Jowards

I think the reason that he is out of the race is really simple.  Last election, when he ran, people were trying to figure him about.  What does he stand for?  What would he do?  Lots of people thought he was running for VP, and he ended up as JK's VP.  This time, it did not really take long for all the papers to identify Jowards as a populist panderer.  Former ambulance chaser turned populist panderer with $400 haircut.  And, because the US is not in a recession right now, there were not enough people feeling angry and disenfranchised.  Hence, he is out?

I don't think there is much more to it than that.

worthless crap

Why I left academia (and so can you!). How is this in any way advancing anything?

Check out the ridiculous equations on the few pages.

Is this published on the Onion and I just don't know it?

This says Jowards is 3.7 times more negative than Bbama. Oh really? Is that what the "research" says? This is just a load of stinking dirty crap and it hurts me to think about it any longer.

Spread

3-day rolling averages had FL in a statistical dead heat between Barf Jocain and Ritt Momney.  Question for ROTS: How many points would JoCain need to win by to wrap up this whole primary thing?

The same polling places have Hlinton up considerably in FL.  What effect on the B'Bama momentum if she beats him by 10+?

Ideas...Whattya Got?

Can somebody please post an intellectually stimulating idea or theory that we can react to? I don't have any at the moment but am hoping somebody can come up with something.

You will be assimilated, Part XLIII

We are going to be assimilated, but not quite the way we previously thought.  Instead of turning living things into machines, we're going to make information into living things.

With the new ability to sequence a genome, scientists can begin to custom-design organisms, essentially creating biological robots that can produce from scratch chemicals humans can use. Biofuels like ethanol, for example.

"The J. Craig Venter Institute will be able to take a file stored on a computer and using synthetic chemistry, turn that information into life," said Chris Voigt, a University of California at San Francisco synthetic biologist.

Jet packs!

We're glad to see someone is taking rocket packs seriously because, let's face it - who wouldn't love to have one?
