Question about Bbama
What is a "community organizer" anyway? How much does one earn as an organizer? Who pays you and how (e.g., on a contingency basis based on the frequency or intensity of organization efforts? By the hour?, etc.)? Where do you get an application for these positions? What do they organize in the community?
Community Organizers are people who assist people who have something in common (same job, same neighborhood, etc.) by helping them effectively advocate for their interests.
Community Organizing has been most often seen in this country in relation to the labor movement. But these days, you also often see neighborhood non-profit organizations that lobby for various sectors of the city with the city/county council.
